Jurassic mud from Bad Boll: The word fango comes from Italian and means healing mud. Jurafango from Bad Boll is a recognized, natural remedy for treating degenerative and inflammatory diseases, as well as sports injuries and muscle tension. It is used in physiotherapy and occupational therapy in the form of hot or cold packs. Due to its good skin compatibility, Jurafango is also used therapeutically in various naturopathic treatments for skin diseases. Jura mud is also a popular cosmetic product. Its emollient properties give the skin renewed suppleness and elasticity. The blackish-gray powder is extracted from the rock strata of the Black Jurassic, specifically the Posidonia Shale. Jura mud is characterized by its concentrated content of petroleum crudum (four to 15 percent) as well as its rich fossil components and minerals. The fine milling results in a high water-binding capacity and extremely high heat retention. This creates a well-adhering and supple pack that releases heat twice as long as a hot water bottle. Wet application: Once you have used the compress while it is wet, it cannot be used dry. Knead the compress in water between 40° and 50°C for five to ten minutes. Remove it from the water and wring it out well. Please check the temperature with the back of your hand before applying it. Cover the compress with a folded cotton or silk cloth and place it on the area to be treated. A notice: The warming effect lasts approximately ten to twenty minutes. You can retain the heat and thus enhance the effect of the mud pack by covering it with a flannel or wool cloth after application. Longer application times are safe. When used dry and stored properly in a dry place, the compress can be used 80 to 100 times. For moist therapy applications, please replace the compress after 20 uses.
