Description Ervasil Max contains the active ingredient sildenafil, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men. The medicinal product is a blue, round tablet. Composition The active substance is sildenafil ( sildenafilum ) in the form of citrate. Each film-coated tablet contains 50 mg of sildenafil as sildenafil citrate. Excipients: Tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose 102; calcium hydrogen phosphate; croscarmellose sodium; magnesium stearate. Film-coating: hypromellose; lactose monohydrate; titanium dioxide (E 171); triacetin; indigo carmine (E132). Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. If you have previously used medicines containing sildenafil at a dose of 50 mg or higher, the recommended dose is 50 mg. Otherwise, Ervasil Max 50 mg should only be used if you have not experienced the desired effect (i.e., have not achieved an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse) after using sildenafil 25 mg. You should contact your doctor if you do not get an erection after taking this medicine, or if your erection does not last long enough for you to complete sexual intercourse after you have been sexually stimulated. Action By helping to relax blood vessels in the penis, Ervasil Max increases blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal. It helps achieve an erection only if you are sexually aroused. Indications The medicinal product is indicated for use in adult men with erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection of the penis sufficient for sexual intercourse. Contraindications Do not use the medicine in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the ingredients of the medicinal product. Use is contraindicated in patients with severe heart and liver disease, low blood pressure, recent stroke or heart attack, hereditary degenerative changes of the retina such as retinitis pigmentosa , and if the patient has ever had vision loss due to non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Very common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): headache. Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people): nausea, facial flushing, hot flushes (symptoms include a sudden feeling of heat in your upper body), indigestion, colour tinge to vision, blurred vision, visual disturbance, stuffy nose, dizziness. Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): vomiting, skin rash, eye irritation, bloodshot eyes, eye pain, seeing flashes of light, visual brightness, sensitivity to light, watery eyes, palpitations, fast heartbeat, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, muscle pain, drowsiness, reduced sense of touch, dizziness, ringing in the ears, dry mouth, blocked or stuffy sinuses, rhinitis (symptoms include runny nose, sneezing and stuffy nose), upper abdominal pain, gastroesophageal reflux disease (symptoms include heartburn), blood in urine, pain in arms or legs, nosebleed, feeling hot, feeling tired. Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people): fainting, stroke, heart attack, irregular heartbeat, temporary decreased blood flow to parts of the brain, feeling of tightness in the throat, numbness of the mouth, bleeding at the back of the eye, double vision, reduced sharpness of vision, abnormal sensation in the eye, swelling of the eye or eyelid, small particles or spots in your vision, seeing halos around lights, dilated pupil, discolouration of the white of the eye, penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen, dry nose, swelling inside the nose, feeling irritable and sudden decrease or loss of hearing. Warnings and precautions The use of the drug should be discussed if the patient has: sickle cell anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma, anatomical deformity of the penis, Peyronies disease, heart problems, peptic ulcer disease, coagulation disorders, and kidney and liver disorders. In case of sudden deterioration or loss of vision, contact your doctor immediately. Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Use of other medications Please tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken or might take, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Ervasil Max may interact with: drugs from the nitrate group, nitric oxide releasers, riociguat, alpha-blockers used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and some drugs used in the treatment of HIV infections. If you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision, stop taking Ervasil Max and contact your doctor immediately. Do not take concomitantly with other medicines containing sildenafil. Taking the medicine with food and drink If Ervasil Max is taken with food, the onset of action may be delayed compared to taking the medicinal product on an empty stomach. You should not drink large amounts of alcohol before taking this medicine. Pregnancy and breastfeeding Ervasil Max is not intended for women. Use of the drug in children and adolescents The medicine should not be used in persons under 18 years of age. Driving and operating machinery This medicine may have a minor influence on the ability to drive and use machines (dizziness, visual disturbances). Caution should be exercised.
