Composition Effipro spray per ml: - Fipronil 2.5 mg Indications: Treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.) in dogs and cats. Treatment of tick infestations (Rhiphicephalus sanguines and Ixodes ricinus) in dogs and cats. Treatment of infestations with mange lice in dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola subrostratus). Effipro Spray can be used as part of a strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis. Insecticidal efficacy against new infestations of adult fleas persists for up to 6 weeks in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the environmental load. Effipro Spray has a persistent acaricidal activity of up to 4 weeks against ticks, depending on the environmental load. Contraindications: Do not use in sick animals (e.g. systemic diseases, febrile conditions, etc.) or in convalescent animals. Do not use in rabbits, as adverse reactions or even death may occur. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Adverse reactions: If the animal licks the application area, a brief period of hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the solvent. Extremely rare adverse effects reported after the use of Effipro spray include transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration, local alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus or alopecia. Exceptionally, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous symptoms), vomiting or respiratory symptoms have been reported after application. The pump delivers 1.5 ml (500ml bottle) of solution with each spray.Dosage: To wet the fur down to the skin, apply 3-6 ml per kg body weight (7.5-15 mg of active substance per kg body weight), depending on the length of the hair. The dosage can be achieved with 2-4 sprays in the case of the 500ml presentation form. Depending on the length of the hair, the 500 ml presentation allows 2 - 4 treatments for a 20 kg dog.Method of administration Adjust the pump sprayer to spray the area. Spray the entire body of the animal with Effipro spray, applying from a distance of 10-20 cm. Apply to the hair coat and make sure that the entire animals fur has been wetted. Ruffle the animals fur, especially those with long hair, so that the product penetrates to the skin. For treatment of the head area and in young or nervous pets, application can be done by spraying the solution onto a gloved hand and rubbing the animals fur. Allow to dry naturally. Do not dry with a towel!Treatment regimen For optimal control of flea and/or tick infestation, the treatment regimen will be based on the local epidemiological situation. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks.Special warnings: Do not exceed the recommended dose. Avoid contact of the product with the animals eyes. Do not apply the spray directly to damaged skin. Allow animals to dry in a well-ventilated room (see section 4.5). Do not place animals in enclosed spaces or pet carriers before the fur is completely dry. In the absence of specific data on tolerance and efficacy, the product is not recommended for the treatment of species other than dogs and cats. When used as part of a treatment strategy against flea allergy dermatitis, monthly applications are recommended for the allergic patient and the rest of the dogs and cats in the household. For optimal effect, it is recommended not to bathe or shampoo animals two days before or after treatment with this product. Bathing or shampooing up to 4 times in two months had no significant effect on the residual efficacy of the product. When shampooing more frequently, monthly treatment is recommended. Treating animal bedding, carpets and soft furnishings with an appropriate insecticide will help reduce the environmental load and can provide maximum protection against reinfestation. For optimal flea infestation control in a multi-pet household, all dogs and cats in the household should be treated with an appropriate insecticide. It is important to ensure that the dose is applied in an area where the animals cannot lick each other after treatment. There may only be one tick attached. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely ruled out under unfavorable conditions. Effipro spray is not suitable for direct treatment of the environment. Keep treated animals away from fire or other heat sources and from surfaces susceptible to being affected by the alcohol spray, for at least 30 minutes after applying the spray or until the fur is completely dry. Fipronil may be harmful to aquatic organisms.
