NAME: EFFECTIVE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Fipronil. THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: For the treatment of flea (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) infestations in dogs and cats. For the treatment of biting lice in dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola subrostratus). The product can be used as part of a strategic treatment for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). Insecticidal efficacy against new adult flea infestations persists for up to 2 months in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the severity of the environmental infestation. The product has persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks against ticks, depending on the level of environmental infestation. CONTRAINDICATIONS / ADVERSE EFFECTS: Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, fever, etc.) or convalescents. Do not use in rabbits, as adverse reactions and even death may occur. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the excipients. DOSAGE: The mechanical pump spray delivers 0.5 ml of product. To wet the coat down to the skin, apply 3 or 6 ml/kg body weight, depending on the length of the hair. This dose can be obtained with 6-12 sprays per application/kg body weight. Depending on the length of the hair, the packaging allows: 4-8 treatments for a 4 kg cat; 3 treatments for a 10 kg dog. Spray against the grain over the entire surface of the animals body, from a distance of 10-20 cm. Rub the coat, especially in long-haired animals, to bring the product into direct contact with the skin. For treatment of the head or young or nervous animals, application can be done with a glove, moving against the grain. Leave to dry naturally. The formula, which contains a fixing agent, creates a film that makes the coat shiny. For optimal control of flea and/or tick infestations, the treatment regimen may be based on the local epidemiological situation. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Puppies and kittens from 2 days of age can be safely treated. STORAGE: Do not store above 25 degrees C. Protect from direct sunlight. Shelf life after first opening the container: 1 year. WARNINGS: Avoid direct contact with the animals eyes. Do not spray directly on damaged skin areas. In the absence of specific data on safety and efficacy, the product is not recommended for the treatment of species other than dogs and cats. For optimal efficacy, it is not recommended to bathe or shampoo animals 2 days before or after application of the product. Bathing or shampooing up to 4 times in two months has not shown any significant effect on the residual efficacy of the product. Monthly treatments are recommended when more frequent bathing is required. For optimal control of flea infestations in mixed groups of animals, all dogs and cats in the household/group should be treated with an appropriate insecticide. It is important to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. Fipronil is toxic to aquatic organisms. Dogs should not be allowed to swim in water for 2 days after application. Special precautions for the operator: The product may cause irritation of mucous membranes and eyes. Avoid contact of the contents with fingers. In case of contact, wash hands with soap and water. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Treated animals should not be handled until their fur is dry. It is therefore recommended that animals be treated in the early evening, not during the day. People with known hypersensitivity or asthma may be particularly sensitive to the product. Overdose: In case of overdose, the risk of adverse reactions may increase; in this case, initiate symptomatic treatment. TARGET SPECIES: Dogs, cats. ADVERSE REACTIONS: In case of licking, a short period of hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the excipients. After use, transient skin reactions at the application site, such as itching and alopecia, hypersalivation, reversible neurological symptoms (hyperaesthesia, depression, nervous symptoms), vomiting or respiratory symptoms, have been reported. PREGNANCY AND LACTATION: Laboratory studies have not revealed teratogenic effects in rats and rabbits. Fipronil is well tolerated by puppies after treatment of lactating bitches. There are no data available on the safety of the product in pregnant or lactating bitches or cats; therefore, use only according to a risk/benefit assessment
