Effipro Duo Dog S 67 mg (2 - 10 kg), 4 pipettes is an antiparasitic product for external use that contains fipronil, and is very effective in treating flea and tick infestations, for a period of 4-8 weeks after a single administration. The Effipro Duo pipette can be used in the treatment and control of flea allergy dermatitis. If ticks of certain species (Rhiphicephalus sanguinessi Ixodes ricinus) are present, they will be killed within 2-7 days of application of the pipette. Designed to be applied monthly, Effipro DUO for dogs kills fleas and ticks before the parasites bite the animal. Within a month of treatment, the Effipro Duo pipette kills adult fleas before they lay eggs, inhibiting the immature stages, thus interrupting the flea life cycle and preventing recurrent infestations. Composition: Fipronil 67 mg; Pyriproxyfen 20.1 mg. Route of administration: external application to the skin. METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION Remove the single-dose pipette from the protective package. Hold the single-dose pipette in a vertical position, twist and pull the cap off. Make a path in the animals hair between the shoulder blades and apply the contents of the pipette to the skin, without massaging. Place the tip of the single-dose pipette on the skin and press the pipette several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin at two points on the back.CONTRAINDICATIONS The product is not for use in puppies under 8 weeks of age and/or weighing less than 2 kg. Do not use in sick animals (systemic diseases, fever) or in those in convalescence. Do not use on wet fur, and do not allow the animal to swim for at least 48 hours after treatment. Do not use on cats and rabbits. The animal should not be shampooed for at least 2 days after treatment. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Do not apply to damaged skin. Do not smoke, eat or drink water while handling this product.ADVERSE REACTIONS If licking occurs, short-term hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the excipients. After use, among the extremely rare side effects, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration and local alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and generalized pruritus or alopecia may be observed. Alopecia and irritation normally disappear without the need for intervention, but symptomatic therapy may be applied in certain circumstances. Exceptionally, as with other macrocyclic lactones, reversible neurological signs have been observed following use of the product. Recommendations for correct administration: the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Monthly treatment is recommended throughout the year. When concurrent infestations or infections are present on the same animal to be treated with this product, only a single topical application of a recommended dose should be administered once.
