Careful • Always make sure that the complete product is: - suitable for the application; - worn correctly; - worn throughout the entire exposure period; - replaced when necessary. • Some chemicals may affect this product. • Contact 3M for additional information. • Wired earplugs should not be used where there is a possibility that the wire could become tangled during use. • Correct selection, training, use and maintenance are essential to ensure adequate noise protection for the user. • Failure to follow all instructions for use regarding this product for personal protection and/or failure to use this product for the entire exposure period may have adverse consequences on the users health and may cause serious illness or permanent disability. • Read all instructions for use and retain them for future reference. Wearing instructions Before wearing the inserts, check the integrity of the product and make sure it is not damaged or torn. If you notice any damage, immediately replace the product with a new pair. Wash your hands before putting on earplugs. Always wear earplugs before entering a noise-prone area. 1. Rotate the insert until you get a well-compressed cylinder. 2. Grasp the pinna with your opposite hand and pull on the top to open the ear canal. 3. Insert the conical insert into the ear canal, simultaneously pulling the pinna outward and upward. Hold in place until the insert expands again. Seal check When the inserts have been inserted correctly, your voice should sound muffled and surrounding sounds should be quieter than before. Check fit frequently during periods of noise exposure. If the inserts were to become loose, the actual protection provided against hazardous noise could be significantly reduced. To re-enter them, follow steps 1-3 above. Note The size and shape of the ear canal are unique to each person. If you are unable to properly fit these earplugs and achieve the required comfort, contact your safety manager or 3M representative for further advice. Materials Inserts: slow-expanding PVC foam. Cable (where present): Recycled PVC. Cleaning instructions These inserts are disposable and must be replaced after use. See packaging for more information. Please use the original packaging for transport. Replace the product within 5 years from the date of manufacture or immediately if damaged.
