DulcoSoft Description Medical device for the symptomatic treatment of constipation and for softening stools. The main component of DulcoSoft is macrogol 4000, an osmotic laxative. Macrogol 4000 has a high water-holding capacity. It acts as a water carrier and delays intestinal absorption, resulting in an increase in the amount of water in the colon. It softens the stool and increases its volume. This speeds up intestinal transit and facilitates evacuation, providing a natural and gentle sensation of relief from constipation and intestinal irregularities. Macrogol 4000 has a purely physical mode of action: it is practically unabsorbed by the body and excreted unchanged. components Macrogol 4000, potassium sorbate (preservative), citric acid, purified water. Free from flavor, sugar, lactose and gluten . How to use Dilute with a beverage of your choice (approximately 150 ml). Adults and children over 8 years of age: 20-40 ml of solution per day (equivalent to 10-20 g of macrogol 4000), preferably administered in a single administration, in the morning. Children aged 4 to 7 years: 16-32 ml of solution per day (equivalent to 8-16 g of macrogol 4000), preferably administered in a single administration, in the morning. Children aged 2 to 3 years: 8-16 ml of solution per day (equivalent to 4-8 g macrogol 4000), preferably administered in a single dose in the morning. Children aged 6 months to 1 year: 8 ml of solution per day (equivalent to 4 g of macrogol 4000), preferably administered in a single administration, in the morning. Use in children under 12 years of age should preferably be carried out under medical supervision. Measure the dose using the measuring cup included in the box. The dose can be adjusted according to individual needs, without exceeding the maximum recommended dose: this can vary from once a day to once every other day. The appropriate dose is the lowest dose sufficient to produce soft, regular stools. The recommended daily dose should be taken, preferably in a single dose, in the morning. The effectiveness of the product occurs within 24 to 72 hours after administration. Do not take for more than 7 days. warnings Do not take if: - hypersensitivity to macrogol 4000 or any of the other ingredients; - severe inflammatory bowel disease (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease) or toxic megacolon; - gastrointestinal perforation or risk of gastrointestinal perforation; - paralytic ileus or suspected intestinal obstruction or symptomatic stenosis; - painful abdominal syndromes whose cause has not been established. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking DulcoSoft. DulcoSoft should not be taken daily for long periods of time without investigating the cause of constipation. In case of diarrhoea, caution is advised in patients prone to fluid or electrolyte imbalances (e.g. elderly, patients with hepatic or renal impairment or patients treated with diuretics) and electrolyte monitoring should be considered. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor first. Do not use in children under 6 months. Macrogol 4000 increases the osmotic pressure in the intestine and therefore may alter the intestinal absorption of other products administered at the same time. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other products. Excessive doses of DulcoFosft may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and vomiting, which resolve upon discontinuation of treatment or reduction of the dose.
