Mepitel One PROTECTIVE DRESSING WITH SILICONE CONTACT LAYER Description A contact layer dressing designed for the management of a wide range of exuding wounds, including painful wounds, lacerations, abrasions, surgical incisions, partial-thickness burns, traumatic wounds, skin tears, skin grafts, radiation-induced skin lesions, and leg ulcers. It can also be used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds or on fragile skin. It does not adhere to moist surfaces, such as open wounds. It conforms to the skins pores, covering a larger surface area and distributing shear forces upon removal, preventing skin stripping. It seals the wound edges, ensuring exudate containment and minimizing maceration. How to use Clean the wound according to clinical practice and dry the periwound skin; Choose a dressing size that covers the wound and surrounding skin with a margin of at least 2 cm beyond the area to be treated. Larger wounds require a larger margin. If more than one dressing is required, overlap the dressings, taking care not to block pores. remove a portion of the protective film using the overlapping edges and apply the dressing with the contact layer on the lesion; remove the remaining part of the protective film and spread it well, so as to ensure good adhesion on the perilesional skin; If necessary, apply a secondary absorbent dressing over Mepitel One to help secure it. It can be left in place for up to 14 days, depending on the condition of the wound and periwound skin (exudate must pass freely through the dressing and pores must not be obstructed), or as indicated by current clinical practice. Conservation The package remains sterile unless the inner packaging is damaged or opened before use. Do not resterilize.
