MaxioCel Description A highly absorbent dressing designed to heal patients with acute and chronic wounds by effectively managing exudates, improving pain management, and wound healing. MaxioCel can be used for moderate to heavily exuding wounds of varying depth, shape, and size. Therefore, the device is highly recommended for wounds such as pressure sores, ulcers of various etiologies, skin abrasions, burns, surgical wounds, and other types of infected wound treatment. In some cases, it has even been used successfully for localized wounds on the feet of diabetic patients. The device features patented Bioactive Microfiber Gelling Technology (BMG). The dressings mechanism of action involves a unique gelling fiber technology that uses chitosan to maintain a cohesive structure, increasing fluid management. Its antimicrobial and mild hemostasis properties actively contribute to wound healing. The dressing is extremely versatile and highly absorbent, retaining exudate and protecting the periwound skin from tissue maceration. Its antimicrobial and anti-biofilm properties promote faster healing, improving patient comfort through pain relief and aesthetics through a noticeable reduction in scarring. MaxioCel is approximately three times more resistant to moisture than traditional gelling dressings, remains completely intact during dressing changes, and can be removed easily and painlessly. Even during the dispersion test, the dressing showed no evidence of loss of integrity or separation of the fibers from the original tissue structure. How to use 1. Always follow aseptic techniques when dressing a wound. 2. Irrigate and clean the wound site. 3. Open the MaxioCel pouch and cut, fold or overlap the dressing to fit the wound. 4. Cover and secure with the appropriate secondary dressing. 5. To remove, irrigate with saline/water solution and gently peel it off. 6. Slowly remove and discard the dressing. Components 100% Chitosan. Warnings The product has no contraindications. It can be used safely on patients who have shown allergic reactions or are sensitive to shellfish. MAXIOCEL dressings are non-absorbable. They are not recommended for surgical implantation or for controlling severe bleeding. Sterility is guaranteed unless the pouch is damaged.
