A polymeric solution that forms a uniform, long-lasting protective film when applied to intact or damaged skin. The film is colorless, transparent, and has good oxygen and moisture vapor permeability. It is washed off and is not absorbed. It acts as a barrier against irritation caused by bodily fluids: - Prevention and treatment of incontinence dermatitis. - Irritation of the peristomal skin. - Prevention of maceration and irritation of the perilesional skin caused by the repeated application of adhesive tapes and dressings. - Protection of the skin around any type of wound. Alcohol-free (does not irritate the skin or mucous membranes and its application is not painful). Non-cytotoxic. The product is dispersed in a special, non-cytotoxic solvent that does not cause irritation or itching and dries quickly. COMPOSITION Solvent: Hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDS)Film formers/viscosity controlling agents.Acrylate Copolymer.Polyphenylmethylsiloxane. STORAGE AND EXPIRY Store at room temperature (between 15º and 30º C), avoiding excessive heat and humidity. CONTRAINDICATIONS It should not be used as the sole prevention for the application of dressings that prevent contamination/penetration of microorganisms, for example, the insertion of catheters for intravenous therapy and in full or partial thickness ulcers. It should not be used on infected skin areas. INDICATIONS It acts as a barrier against irritation caused by body fluids. Prevention and treatment of incontinence dermatitis. Skin protection around any type of wound. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Before application, the skin must be clean and dry. Apply an even layer of film to the entire area to be treated. If using a steamer, hold it 10-15 cm away and move it in a sweeping motion. If applying to an area with skin folds or where two surfaces meet, be sure to separate the areas to allow the film to dry completely before returning the skin to its normal position. PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS Keep out of reach of children. It is flammable (30°F) and should be used in well-ventilated areas. If redness or other signs of inflammation appear, discontinue use, and if they persist, consult your doctor. The use of other protective products—balms, creams, or lotions—may significantly decrease the effectiveness of this product. Sterilized by irradiation. Latex-free.
