elmex® gelée for caries prophylaxis and for sensitive tooth necks Elmex® gelée contains highly concentrated amine fluoride and is used for the prevention of caries, the supportive treatment of initial caries, and the treatment of sensitive tooth necks. The gel is suitable as a weekly intensive treatment for the whole family and can be used from the age of 6. Mechanism of action of elmex® gelée in incipient caries elmex® gelée reverses incipient caries through remineralization. By replenishing lost minerals, the tooth is rebuilt from the inside out, the enamel is strengthened, and the risk of caries is reduced. Initial caries is an early form of tooth decay in which mineral loss is limited to the enamel, leaving the surface intact. It develops when the tooth loses minerals. Typically, initial caries occurs in children and adolescents at the gum line and on the chewing surfaces, while in adults it often appears between the teeth. On the smooth surfaces of the teeth, it usually manifests as a chalky white spot. elmex® gelée for children, adolescents and braces wearers Around the age of six, children begin to lose their permanent teeth. Apply approximately 1 cm of elmex® gelée (approx. 0.5 g gel corresponding to 6.25 mg fluoride) to the toothbrush once a week and brush your teeth. Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes. The total time, including cleaning and exposure time, must not exceed 5 minutes. Ideally, apply in the evening before going to bed.
