Calshake POWDER – a high-calorie supplementary drink for diet management Calshake POWDER is a high-calorie nutritional supplement in powder form and a food for special medical purposes (balanced diet). The powder is mixed with whole milk to create a high-energy shake (1.9 kcal/ml) and is suitable for the dietary management of existing or impending malnutrition, particularly in cases of increased energy requirements. Calshake contains lactose but is gluten-free. It is available in four flavors (banana, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate) as well as a neutral option. Application and recommended daily amount To prepare, dissolve the contents of one sachet in 240 ml of whole milk (3.5% fat) and stir well until a smooth shake is formed. The ready-to-drink quantity is approximately 315 ml and provides about 600 kcal. The recommended amount is one sachet per day as a supplement to nutrition or as advised by a doctor. Calshake should be drunk slowly; it tastes particularly good chilled. Storage and handling Store the powder in a dry place at room temperature. The prepared shake should either be consumed immediately or refrigerated for a maximum of 24 hours. Stir the drink well again before consuming it again. Areas of application Calshake POWDER is intended for the dietary management of patients with existing or impending malnutrition, particularly when there is an increased energy requirement. The product is reimbursable by statutory health insurance in cases where the ability to obtain sufficient nutrition through normal means is impaired or absent, especially if cystic fibrosis is also present. Contraindications and warnings Calshake should not be used if enteral nutrition is contraindicated or if there is an intolerance to any of the ingredients. The product is not suitable for children with galactosemia. The neutral flavor is not suitable for children under 1 year of age, and the vanilla, banana, strawberry, and chocolate flavors are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
