ACTION AND MECHANISM Combination of an amide-type local anesthetic and antiseptics. Lidocaine acts by blocking sensory receptors in the mucous membranes locally. CONTRAINDICATIONS - Hypersensitivity to any of the components of this product. Cross-sensitivity may occur with other amide-type local anesthetics. - Contraindicated in children under 6 years of age. INDICATIONS Authorized in Spain: Symptomatic relief of mild mouth and throat infections, accompanied by pain but without fever. GUIDELINES FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION Dissolve one lozenge slowly in your mouth. Do not use before meals or before drinking. POSOLOGY - Adults and adolescents from 12 years: 1 pill every 2-3 hours, maximum 8 pills/day. - Children under 12 years: Not recommended for children under 12 years. If symptoms persist for more than 2 days or worsen, or if other symptoms such as high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting appear, the clinical situation should be evaluated. PRECAUTIONS - Not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age (lozenges). - Use with caution in elderly, acutely ill, or debilitated patients, as they are more sensitive to the adverse reactions of this medication. - If symptoms persist for more than 2 days or worsen, or if other symptoms such as high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting appear, the clinical situation should be evaluated. - The anesthesia produced by this medication in the throat may promote aspiration (coughing during a meal, with the sensation of choking) while eating. It is therefore imperative not to use this medication before meals or before drinking. - [ASTHMA]. Asthmatic patients should use this product only under the guidance of a doctor. - This medication contains terpenes provided by levomenthol. Neurological complications such as seizures in children have been reported at excessive doses of terpenes. However, the absorption and activity of levomenthol via this route of administration is very low. Therefore, children up to 9 years old (average weight 30 kg) are widely protected against the doses of levomenthol that may be absorbed when administering this product. PRECAUTIONS RELATING TO EXCIPIENTS This medicine contains glucose. Patients with glucose or galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine. ADVERSE REACTIONS Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions (stinging, itching), angioedema, burning in the throat, and a bad taste may occur. OVERDOSE Overdosage problems are not expected. In the event of systemic absorption, it would manifest as transient CNS stimulation, although this does not always occur, followed by CNS depression (drowsiness, unconsciousness) and cardiovascular depression (hypotension, slow or irregular heartbeat). Prolonged use of this medication (more than 5 days) is not recommended because it can alter the natural microbial balance of the throat. Use in children under 6 years of age at high doses and for extended periods may cause seizures.
