BORT Stack splint – finger splint for immobilizing the end joint The BORT Stack splint is a medical device finger splint for the targeted immobilization of the distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint. It is used for stabilization after fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, or extensor tendon ruptures. Through consistent immobilization, the splint supports the healing process and helps to keep the joint in a functional position. Areas of application The splint is intended for injuries of the distal interphalangeal joint such as fractures, dislocations, ligament injuries, or extensor tendon ruptures. It should not be used in cases of unexplained soft tissue swelling, sensory or circulatory disturbances in the affected area, or skin diseases in the treated area. Selection of the correct size and instruction on its use are provided by qualified personnel. Application and handling Place the affected finger straight on a flat surface (e.g., a table) and slide the splint over the finger until the fingernail is visible in the semi-oval opening. The fingertip should be flush with the end of the splint; the back end must not extend beyond the middle joint (PIP joint). For fixation, you can wrap a skin-friendly, self-adhesive fixation tape (not included) circularly around the back end of the splint. If the splint is too long, it must only be adjusted by trained professionals using a funnel-shaped cutter. To remove the splint, remove the clasp and carefully peel it off. Important notes and cleaning This medical device is intended for the use of a single patient only and must not be worn if there is an intolerance to any of the plastics used or on open wounds. The splint must be removed before radiological examinations. If numbness occurs in the finger, the splint should be removed and checked by a doctor. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Hand washing at 30°C without bleach, fabric softener, or dry cleaning is recommended; do not tumble dry or iron. Finger splint for immobilizing the DIP joint in cases of fracture, dislocation, ligament injuries and extensor tendon rupture Intended for one patient only, do not use on open wounds or in case of material incompatibility. Easy application: slide over the outstretched finger, nail visible in the opening, fix with self-adhesive tape Material: Polyethylene (PE) or ABS, easy to clean by hand washing at 30 °C
