The fingertip should be flush with the end of the splint; the back end should not extend beyond the middle joint (PIP joint). For fixation, a skin-friendly, self-adhesive fixation tape (not included) can be wrapped circularly around the back end of the splint. To remove the splint, remove the used fixation tape and carefully peel it off.
