Biolevox™ HA Tendon is a sterile, non-pyrogenic gel with high molecular weight (1.6%) sodium hyaluronate , obtained by bacterial fermentation . The preparation is intended for injection around the tendon or into the tendon sheath ; it is not intended for intravascular administration. Solution pH: 6.8–7.4 . One pre-filled syringe contains 2 ml of gel = 32 mg of sodium hyaluronate . Biovico, Biolevox™ HA Tendon, peritendinous/intratendinous gel is intended for use in case of pain and limited mobility in tendon diseases caused by injuries (e.g. tendon strain) or overload changes (e.g. tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendinopathy). Properties and mechanism of action Sodium hyaluronate increases endogenous HA levels in the soft tissues surrounding tendons, creating a favorable environment for regeneration , promoting hydration and lubrication of tendon structures, and alleviating pain and limited movement resulting from injuries and overuse. The optimal viscosity of the formulation results from the high concentration (1.6%) and high molecular weight of HA. The beneficial effects of the therapy last for at least 6 months . Dosage and method of administrationFor medical use only. Recommended regimen: 2 injections1 week apart. Needle: 25G; before administration, remove air bubbles, disinfect the skin (without agents containing quaternary ammonium salts , which may precipitate HA). Following injection, local cooling for 5–10 minutes may reduce local reactions. Concurrent use of oral analgesics/anti-inflammatory medications may provide additional relief.
