Product features: Biatain Silicone Ag Biatain Silicone Ag is a soft, flexible, and highly absorbent foam dressing with gentle silicone adhesion. Biatain Silicone Ag contains silver, which is continuously released into the wound. It can be used on infected wounds or wounds at risk of infection. Excellent absorption due to the unique 3D foam structure: Upon contact with exudate, the 3D foam structure of Biatain Silicone Ag bulges towards the wound bed, ensuring excellent absorption – even under compression. The unique 3D foam structure absorbs the wound exudate, channels it vertically away from the wound, and securely stores it, while maintaining a moist wound environment to provide optimal conditions for wound healing. Direct contact with the wound bed reduces the space between the dressing and the wound, minimizing exudate accumulation that can lead to infection. Continuous silver release: Silver complex with proven efficacy against bacteria commonly found in infected wounds with delayed healing, including MRSA, VR-E, ESBL-producing bacteria, and Pseudomonas. The silver profile ensures continuous silver release throughout the entire wear time (up to 7 days). Gentle and secure hold: The silicone adhesive provides a secure hold while minimizing pain when removing the dressing. The soft and flexible design of Biatain Silicone Ag ensures optimal adaptation to the wound and body. The foam cushion of Biatain Silicone Ag sits at skin level, guaranteeing optimal comfort even under compression. Intuitive application: Biatain Silicone Ag features a 3-piece non-touch technology for easy and aseptic application. Product composition: Biatain Silicone Ag is a soft and conformable polyurethane foam dressing with a silver ion complex homogeneously distributed throughout the foam matrix. The dressing features a semi-permeable, bacteria- and water-repellent top film and a gentle silicone adhesive border. Use: Biatain Silicone Ag is indicated for a wide range of exuding wounds with delayed healing due to bacteria or wounds at risk of infection, particularly leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, second-degree burns, split-thickness skin graft donor sites, postoperative wounds, and traumatic wounds (e.g., abrasions, skin fissures, lacerations). It can also be used under compression therapy. Source: www.coloplast.de As of August 2018
