Balanil gel Description A topical medical device intended to promote the maintenance and/or restoration of mucocutaneous integrity in the male genital area. It is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of erythema, itching, swelling, pain, and burning in balanitis and balanoposthitis. Irritation and inflammation of the glans penis and foreskin are associated with acute local infections and are often unrelated to previous infections, or they persist as a reaction to medications and topical antifungal and corticosteroid treatments, or to the use of aggressive detergents. Traumatic, allergic, and metabolic stimuli (e.g., diabetes) also contribute to the onset of irritation/inflammatory phenomena in the male genital area. There is also a close correlation between lower urinary tract symptoms, typical of prostate and bladder diseases, and the onset of erythema, itching, swelling, pain, and burning of the glans penis and foreskin. Lower urinary tract symptoms include a range of urinary disorders, including increased frequency and urgency, incontinence, and terminal dribbling. Prolonged and/or frequent contact of urine with the skin and balanopreputial mucosa predisposes the tissues to irritation and inflammation, especially in diabetics, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly. Whatever the inducing stimulus, irritation and chronic inflammation of the male genital area lead to an alteration of the defensive properties of the mucocutaneous barrier, facilitating the implantation of pathogens that cause genital infections. How to use Apply a thin layer of gel to the affected area twice daily until symptoms subside, or as directed by your doctor. Thanks to its unique bioadhesive properties, the product remains in place for a long time, ensuring optimal long-acting effect. Components Aqua, Echinacea angustifolia extract, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, sodium PCA, adelmidrol (INN), algin, sodium hyaluronate, sodium hydroxide, lactic acid, 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol, trans-2-dodecenedioic acid, usnic acid, phytosphingosine, biotin. Warnings For external use only. If persistent burning occurs upon application, discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes; rinse thoroughly in case of accidental eye contact. Do not ingest. Keep out of reach of children. The product is not suitable for individuals already sensitized to any of the ingredients in the formulation. Do not use if the tube is damaged. Use by the expiration date. BALANIL GEL does not interact with commonly used pharmacological treatments for balanitis and balanoposis; however, consult your doctor before using it at the same time.
