APROTEN TOASTED BREAD Description Food for special medical purposes. The low-protein toast from the APROTEN product line is characterized by: low protein, sodium, phosphorus, and potassium content, making it suitable for the dietary management of renal failure (nephropathy); low tyrosine and phenylalanine content, making it suitable for the dietary management of metabolic aminoacidopathies (phenylketonuria, tyrosinemia); and low protein content, making it suitable for the dietary management of Parkinsons disease (under levodopa therapy). Patients undergoing levodopa therapy should be assessed for the degree of dysphagia and any malnutrition issues that may arise under protein restriction. Ingredients Gluten-free wheat starch, rice starch, non-hydrogenated vegetable margarine (refined palm oil, water), honey (8%); thickeners: locust bean gum, guar gum; yeast; emulsifiers: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids; stabilizer: sorbitol; inulin.
