The duration and level of effectiveness depend on the thickness and length of the hair, the animals activities and the level of infestation. It is preferable to wash the animals hair, if it is not clean, before putting on the collar. The collar is water resistant, but it is preferable to remove it before bathing or swimming and put it back immediately after drying the hair.
