ECOSOL ALLFOR-Plus Food supplement that favorably affects the bodys physiological reaction to factors that alter the immune defenses. Nettle (Urtica dioica) It is traditionally used for inflammatory conditions of the urinary tract, rheumatic diseases, and gout. Due to its strong anti-inflammatory effect, demonstrated in numerous laboratory studies, nettle is also widely used for allergic disorders. A clinical study conducted on 69 patients with allergic rhinitis demonstrated that the use of extracts of this plant could reduce related symptoms (58% of patients). Blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum) The plant has a strong anti-inflammatory effect as well as the ability to rid the body of excess purines and uric acid. Using blackcurrant results in a significant reduction in the number of inflammatory cells. It acts by directly stimulating the adrenal cortex (corticosteroid-like action): its administration increases blood cortisol concentrations, yet lacks the iatrogenic effects of corticosteroids. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) The active ingredient is glycyrrhizin, which upon hydrolysis releases two molecules of D-glucuronic acid and one molecule of glycyrrhetinic acid. The anti-inflammatory action of glycyrrhetinic acid has been demonstrated in numerous experimental models. It is accepted that this triterpene acts indirectly by potentiating corticosteroids; in vitro, glycyrrhetinic acid inhibits D4,5β-reductase, the enzyme responsible for the inactivation of steroid hormones. Manganese (Mn) It is active in the symptoms that accompany allergies: tearing, nasal discharge, burning sensation in the eyes, itching. Horseradish (Raphanus niger) The plant is known for its liver-draining properties and, as such, helps improve allergic reactions in which slow liver function is a trigger and aggravating factor. Lactobacillus acidophilus Numerous clinical studies suggest the use of probiotics as immunostimulants for the prevention and as adjuvants in the treatment of infections and allergies. One possible pathogenetic explanation is linked to the hygiene hypothesis, an immunological interpretation of the shift from infectious to allergic diseases. The rationale for this hypothesis is based on the altered nature and intensity of stimuli in the microbial environment, which, combined with improved hygiene and sanitation, have contributed to the development of allergies.
