Algivon Plus Reinforced Alginate Wound Dressing, soaked in 100% Manuka Honey Algivon Plus features reinforced alginate fibers that allow for a sustained and slow release of honey while maintaining the integrity of the wound dressing. Upon contact with a wound, Algivon Plus® becomes very soft and is therefore ideal for preventing tissue demarcation. Characteristics: Antibacterial - Non-peroxide, antimicrobial Manuka factor Osmotic - The low water content of honey actively draws fluid from the wound bed, promotes autolytic debridement and inhibits bacterial growth. Promotes wound healing - Honey promotes granulation and epithelialization, especially due to its content of water-soluble antioxidants. Reduction of wound odor - Rapid reduction and elimination of wound odor, primarily through antimicrobial activity. Adaptable - The alginate fibers make the dressing flexible and adaptable even for complicated wound surfaces. Non-adherent – The alginate fibers retain moisture after absorbing exudate. This prevents the dressing from sticking to the wound.Areas of application: Algivon Plus is applied directly to the wound surface, regardless of which side is used. The pads can also be applied directly next to each other or cut to the appropriate size using sharp scissors. Algivon Plus® requires a secondary dressing. Algivon Plus can be used on all wounds, but especially on coated, necrotic or foul-smelling wounds.
