Alcon Tears Naturale II Med General information TEARS NATURALE® II contains the DUASORB® system which consists of two water-soluble polymers: 1. DEXTRAN 70 2. HYPROMELLOSE This system, mixed with the already existing tears , promotes the wetting of the cornea by intervening correctively in the deficiency of both the aqueous and mucous layers of the tear film. TEARS NATURALE® II has a surface tension and viscosity similar to normal tears. The above properties, combined with its mucin-like action, allow the tear film breakup time (BUT) to be restored to normal (15-25 seconds). Finally, the nasolacrimal excretion time of the Hypromellose polymer has been shown to be much longer than that of other excipients , which allows for prolonged action on the ocular surface . General description TEARS NATURALE® II is a sterile ophthalmic solution with an original composition. Due to the soothing and emollient properties of its ingredients, it is used to relieve the eyes from mild irritations of any etiology and dry eyes. Indications For relief from various irritant syndromes, dry eyes. Dosage and method of administration One to two drops in each eye as many times a day as needed to eliminate symptoms of irritation or as directed by a physician. If irritation persists, stop using the eye drops and consult your doctor. It is permissible to instill them when soft contact lenses are in the eye. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients. Precautions and warnings For topical ophthalmic use only . If eye pain, change in vision, ongoing eye irritation and redness occur, or if the condition worsens or lasts more than 72 hours, discontinue use of the medication and consult your doctor. If the solution changes color or becomes cloudy, do not use it. The tip of the vial should not come into contact with any surface to avoid contamination of the contents. Close the vial of TEARS NATURALE® II tightly after each use. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the box and vial. One month after first opening the vial, any remaining product should be discarded. Interactions with other drugs or substances They have not been mentioned.
