Abound A dietary food intended for special medical purposes to be taken under the supervision of a physician, indicated for the dietary regimen of malnourished patients who need to rebuild lean body mass and repair damaged tissue. Amino acid module consisting of a patented blend of arginine, glutamine, beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate (HMB), which promotes the recovery of lean body mass and wound healing. It can be used for oral or tube feeding. Available in 2 flavors: orange and neutral. How to use The recommended daily dose is 2 sachets per day, unless otherwise indicated by the doctor based on the specific needs of each patient. For oral use: dilute the contents of one sachet in 250 ml of water. For tube feeding: Do not mix Abound with other enteral nutrition formulas directly in the bag. Pour the contents of one pouch into a suitable container and dilute with 125 ml of water. Mix well until completely dissolved. Ensure the tube is positioned correctly. Rinse the tube with 30 ml of water before administering the Abound solution. Administer the Abound solution using a 60 ml or larger syringe. After administering the Abound solution, rinse again with 30 ml of water (use less water if the patient is to be fed a limited fluid diet). Warnings Do not use in septic patients. Conservation If you plan to consume the solution within 4 hours of preparation, keep it at room temperature. If not used immediately, it can be stored in the refrigerator and used within 24 hours. Sealed Abound pouches can be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
